Joannes's Story
Joanne has years of experience working with adults, adolescents and children who have suicidal ideology, self-harming and individuals who have been bereaved through suicide. Joanne has experience in working with depression, anxiety/panic attacks, stress/identity/career, sex and sexuality, childhood trauma/interrupted sexual development, anger management and low self-esteem/self-criticism. When working therapeutically with young individuals Joanne uses creative media such as art, sand play, therapeutic storytelling, drama, music and other up to date approaches in child and adolescent mental health.

Joanne understands that life can throw many obstacles in our path and that individuals are reacting in the best way they can to difficult circumstances. She also understands that therapy is challenging, exploratory but ultimately a liberating process that can restore self-belief, confidence and bring about a new perspective on life.

Joanne works as an integrative therapist, using person centred, psychodynamic, existential and CBT approaches in a humanistic manner. Allowing individuals to achieve greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, ownership, improve relationships and more control over your life. Joanne therapeutic aim is to facilitate individual in understanding what is going on for them in their own life, reflect on past experiences and how they impact on the person they are today.
